Terms of Use

These terms govern your use of the Metron app and website. By using Metron you accept them. If you do not, please stop using the app and delete it.

What Metron is, and what it is not

Metron estimates the energy and macronutrients in your food from photographs and reference nutrition data, and tracks that against a budget computed from the body data you provide.

Metron is a measurement tool, not a medical device. Nothing in it is medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.

Estimates are estimates. Portion weights inferred from a photograph carry real uncertainty, and reference nutrition data describes typical foods rather than the specific plate in front of you. Do not use Metron to manage a medical condition, and consult a qualified clinician before making significant changes to your diet — particularly if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, are under 18, have a low body weight, or have any history of disordered eating. Where your profile indicates any of these, Metron withholds deficit targets and weight-loss guidance by design and shows nutritional information only.

Your account

You must be at least 13 years old to use Metron. Keep your credentials secure; you are responsible for activity under your account. Give us accurate body data — the budget is only as good as its inputs. You may delete your account at any time from Settings.

Metron Pro subscriptions

Metron is free to use for core logging. Metron Pro unlocks unlimited scanning, cycle-aware and energy-aware personalisation, and long-range insights.

Subscriptions bought on the web are billed by Stripe and can be cancelled from the billing portal linked in your receipt. Refunds for App Store purchases are handled by Apple under its own policy; we cannot issue them ourselves. For web purchases, contact us and we will deal with your request fairly and in line with your statutory rights, including the EU right of withdrawal where it applies.

Acceptable use

Do not attempt to breach or probe our security, scrape or resell our data, reverse-engineer the service except as permitted by law, submit content you have no right to submit, or use Metron in a way that breaks the law. We may suspend an account that does these things.

Your content

Your food log and body data are yours. You grant us only the narrow licence needed to operate the service for you — to compute, store and display your own data back to you. We claim no ownership over it and do not use it to train models.

Availability and changes

We aim to keep Metron running but do not guarantee uninterrupted service, and we may change or discontinue features. If we make a materially adverse change to a paid feature, you may cancel and we will refund the unused portion of the current period for purchases we billed directly.

Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Metron is provided "as is" and we exclude implied warranties. We do not exclude or limit liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded. Subject to that, our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing here affects your non-waivable rights as a consumer.

Termination

You may stop using Metron and delete your account at any time. We may terminate or suspend access for a serious or repeated breach of these terms, giving notice where it is reasonable to do so.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the European Union member state in which the operator is established, without prejudice to the mandatory consumer protections of your own country of residence.
